Management Team

Matt Silvey

Manager, Director Hire and Sales

Matt Silvey is a San Jose native who has a customer service and sales background. He started his career in staffing with Controller’s Group over six years ago. Matt developed a passion for matching the perfect client to the ideal candidate, rooted in his desire to understand the needs of both parties and what motivates them. Matt’s belief in providing transparency and integrity throughout the entire process has been the key to his success. 

Aside from work, you can find Matt with friends and family checking out local sporting events, golfing, spending time at Lake Tahoe, and trying new restaurants all over the Bay Area. Matt’s favorite quote is, “Don’t let obstacles stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.” – Michael Jordan

Tracy Pelley


Tracy Pelley is a New Jersey transplant with deep California roots. Possessing a BA in psychology from UC Santa Cruz, she has spent the past 20+ years enjoying finance and accounting recruiting in the Bay Area. Tracy began her career in staffing working for a large multinational agency placing temporary personnel at Fortune 1000 companies. She was eventually recruited by a group of her entrepreneurial peers to start a boutique accounting and finance firm in the Silicon Valley. Because of her success in building out the company and her passion for staffing and recruiting, Tracy was invited to join another early-phase accounting and finance staffing firm to help them build out their operations. She had finally found a place that matched her passion for helping others.   

Now 15 years later, Tracy is still with the Controller’s Group and still enjoys working directly with clients and helping them with their staffing needs. Tracy has trained and mentored many employees who are new to the staffing industry and enjoys watching them grow and succeed.

Kevin Lam

Business Development Manager

Kevin Lam is a Bay Area Native who graduated from San Jose City College with a degree in business administration. His entrepreneurial spirit was sparked at the young age of 11 when he started helping his father run a shoe store. He always came up with creative ideas to bring in new business. Before joining Controller’s Group, he worked as an outside sales manager, where his love for helping others and building new relationships grew. Now he is progressing his devotion to assisting people, working with early to late-stage startups and Fortune 500 companies.

Outside of work, Kevin is a busy father, car and motorcycle enthusiast, and tech geek. He helps modify or fix cars for shows across the Bay Area and is the go-to person for tech advice.

Direct Hire Recruiting Team

Johnny Heshmati

Executive Recruiter, Direct Hire

Johnny Heshmati has a diversified background with experience in the hospitality, automotive, and recruiting industries. He holds a BA degree in exercise physiology from Saint Mary’s College of California and started his career in sales with The Bay Club Company. Johnny has always had a passion for building relationships with people, so getting into recruiting was a natural transition for him. He joined Controller’s Group in August of 2019 and looks forward to matching candidates with their ideal career opportunity. 

 Johnny was born in Santa Clara, CA, and has been in the Bay Area ever since. He likes to spend his free time playing golf and being active, playing poker, fishing, snowboarding, or traveling.

Josh Demkowski

Executive Recruiter, Direct Hire

Josh Demkowski was born and raised in San Jose, CA and brings 6 years of diverse recruiting experience back to Controllers Group. He started his recruiting career doing high volume contract staffing before moving into direct hire, then spent two years leading recruitment efforts across all organizations at a software security startup. Josh is a very passionate, competitive, and transparent Recruiter, who goes above and beyond for his clients and candidates to make sure they get represented in the best light. He is back at Controllers Group and looks forward to continually making an impact serving the accounting and finance professionals pinpoint their next job or ideal candidate.

When Josh is not hunting for the perfect candidate, he is usually spending time with his kids or watching/attending sporting events. Josh is very passionate about the outdoors, especially fishing. He fishes all week for candidates and referrals, then hits the local lakes and Delta on the weekends in search for a new PB.

Temporary Recruiting Team

Linda Andrade-Sequeira

Executive Recruiter, Temporary Services

Linda Andrade-Sequeira has been with Controller’s Group since 2011. In that time, she’s focused primarily on recruiting finance and accounting professionals for consulting and temporary roles including A/P and controller positions, among others. She’s worked with clients throughout the greater Bay Area in various industries including hardware, semiconductor, software, SaaS, financial services, bio/pharma and nonprofit. Prior to her time at CGI, Linda worked in recruiting and finance.

Linda has her bachelor’s degree in finance from San Jose State University. When she’s not at work, Linda keeps busy with her large extended family and community in Portugal, as well as trying out new gluten-free recipes. 

John Richter

Executive Recruiter, Temporary Services

John Richter has been with Controller’s Group since 2004. He’s focused primarily on recruiting for finance and accounting professionals for consulting and temporary roles, from A/P to controller positions. He has worked with clients throughout the greater Bay Area in various industries, including hardware, semiconductor, software, SaaS, financial services, bio/pharma and nonprofit. Prior, John worked for Accounting Principals for three years, working in both business development and recruiting and placement.

John has his bachelor’s degree in communications from Santa Clara University. When he’s not at work, John keeps busy going on adventures with his son, as well as keeping up with the Giants and 49ers.
