The Accounting Manager is responsible for the accurate and timely accounting (and related management information) for all operating businesses related to the Family Office. This position is also responsible for all accounting processes related to retail, hospitality, property management accounting. The Accounting Manager will be primarily responsible for reconciliations, accrued expenses and various analytics.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
” Execute all aspects of financial accounting and reporting, ensuring the correct recording of all assets & liabilities and costs & revenues and maintaining a complete set of records to comply with both internal and external reporting requirements.
” Ensures all balance sheet accounts are reconciled
” Ensures timely review and clarification of the disputed accounts
” Prepares and reviews closing checklist for each legal entity
” Completes monthly intercompany account reconciliations and revaluations; maintains intercompany accruals when needed
” Coordinates monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities
” Prepares monthly reports, quarterly and year end packages
” Assists accounting manager in the preparation of balance sheet review presentations for specific legal entities
” Liaises with Auditors at year end and assists accounting manager in the preparation of the year end audit file
” Assists with ad hoc projects
” Has working knowledge of pertinent policies and procedures
” Has worked in the past with internal and external auditors
” Directs and reviews the work of other Accountants
” Participate in special projects, as necessary
” Undertake the full range of duties relevant to the leadership and management of maintaining the General Ledger

” High proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
” Knowledge of ERP application and Essbase, Hyperion Appilcation is a plus
” Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance Required. CPA is a plus
” 3-6 years of accounting experience in progressively more challenging roles. Preferred experience in start-up or fast-paced environment.
” Extensive experience in month-end closes, preparing journal entries and financial statement account reconciliations.
” Strong knowledge of CAAP
” Judgment, initiative, and the ability to deal with complex relationships and ideas, and the confidence to make timely and informed decisions.
” Demonstrated success in working effectively with little or no supervision.
” Excellent organization skills and command of spreadsheet and database software tools to meet demanding workload.
